No. PDF processing happens locally in your browser. The tool does not send your PDF or extracted annotations to PDF Highlights App.

Which PDF annotations can it extract?

It extracts highlights, text notes, free text, underlines, squiggly marks, strikeouts, and ink annotations when they are stored as native PDF annotations.

Why are visible highlights missing?

Some PDF applications flatten highlights into the page image or store them outside the PDF. Those marks remain visible but are no longer available as structured annotations.
